This piece was carefully made by ceramicist Angela Shifflett of Dandridge, Tennessee and underglazed by yours truly. The olive branch is a symbol in many cultures of peace, victory, hope and and renewal. As I mulled over what to design on this piece, I knew I wanted to lean toward something calming and even holy. What better symbol than this botanical favorite. The yellow outlining the rim acts as a golden halo, emphasizing the divine nature of the plant.
